There is a very important topic that I feel NEEDS to be discussed… First to ask you a simple question: “What is a hacker?” As with most people you are probably thinking something along the lines of: ‘cyber-criminal’ , ‘phone phreak’ , ‘network cracker’ , or even something along the lines of cyber terrorist. However if you are part of the few that chose to say/think that a hacker is an cyber explorer, or a Network Philosopher, then obviously the media hasn’t effected your beliefs.

In the past, an author named George Orwell wrote a novel called 1984 which was based on that time period of course. But fantasizing about the future is the only thing that he did, harmless as it was. After the book was published in 1949, the term “Big Brother” was born due to the totalitarian functionalist society created inside the plot of his book. The society itself was constantly monitored by the government and nothing could be done to retaliate. Now if that was a prediction about 1984, how does that do justice to are present day, in 2008?
